HARDWOOD
DECKING

Hardwood decking is made from dense, durable timber species such as spotted gum, Ironbark, or Merbau. Known for its natural beauty, strength, and resistance to weather and pests, hardwood decking is commonly used for outdoor flooring in patios, gardens, and pool areas.

Advantages:

  • Durability: Extremely hard and long-lasting; resists wear and impact.

  • Aesthetic Appeal: Rich, natural colors and grain patterns enhance outdoor spaces.

  • Weather Resistance: Naturally resistant to moisture, rot, and insects.

  • Low Maintenance (relatively): Requires occasional sealing but resists damage better than softwoods.

Disadvantages:

  • Cost: Significantly more expensive than softwoods.

  • Installation: Harder to cut and drill; requires specialized tools and skills.

  • Maintenance: Needs periodic sealing or oiling to maintain appearance.

  • Hardwood can leak oil so is best not too use it for balconys.
